Bergere "a Oreilles" of
Transition Louis XV -Louis XVI Period

This kind of seat used to be called
“confessional Fauteuil " in reference of chairs used by priest
listening to Confessions.
This wonderful Bergere in "bois dore" has great moldings and
carvings of foliage on top rail and rushes trimmed with ribbons on
seating crossbar.
Gorgeous woodwork of "coup de fouet" on the armrest and
acanthus leaves carving on their consoles. Fluted legs "a rudentures".
A conforming and removable seat cushion. Fabric is the very fine original
silk in a gold color strewn with little pink flowers.
