Pair of French Louis XV Style Bergeres
Their frame is beech wood lacquered in a crackled ( as it was very "in" under Louis XV )and nice light gray. Great moldings on all wooden part with very elegant armrest consoles in "coup de fouet" and typical
hand carving of "fleurettes" in top of the slightly curved backrest, center of the crossbar and also on the gracefully scrolled front feet. Excellent reupholstery with springs and webbing straps for the seat and a feathers filled loose cushion and its removable cover. Fine velvet fabric in a Rose Pompadour color. This kind of
Bergeres, not too big and with low seat are extremely comfortable and are often used for
bedrooms and fireplaces.
