Malicorne Shape Porcelain Vase

This gorgeous vase is made of enameled earthenware, a technique implying to fire at high temperature, first developed by the famous French manufacture Rouen in the 18th Century and which made the "feel" for this ceramic more like a porcelain. The decoration is characteristic of Rouen with the cornucopia theme in blue and orange red colors. Malicorne is the name of a small city in west of France where this special shape was first made. This vase is not intended to hold fresh flowers. Actually a very small hole was done just above the flat bottom to prevent water to stay. This vase is in perfect condition and carry the monogram of Rouen on the base. Circa 1830. Dimensions 21"H , Base is 7" diameter. The largest bulge is 12" diameter and the other one 6".
