Mid.
18th Cent. French Louis XV Period Walnut Armoire Here
is a gorgeous and with great patina armoire, handcrafted from walnut by
1750. It is topped by a "Chapeau de Gendarme" cornice, sitting
on a upper front, covered by a marquetry frieze. The doors are carved
around each panel with little rose flowers. There is 3 panels on each
door, with the smaller one in the middle, as it should be. The molding
around each panel and the one around each door are rich, giving the
front, a fabulous aspect. Fabulous also, the lock, the key and the great
typical hinges from Lyon, at that period. There are 2 inside cremones
(the one actionned by the key is not working). Nice pediment and sculpted
cabriole legs as escargot feet in front. The all armoire is in impeccable
condition and has all its original parts, including the shelves. Only one
of the front feet had a repair-lay time ago- on about 1".
